Willshire was approached by The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) to fit out 2 mobile training units for the Simulated Surgical Skills Program to assist with funded research. These vehicles are being utilised by RACS to train Surgeons in improving their surgical skills in key hole surgery. The custom fit out was designed for a Mercedes Benz Sprinter XLWB to gain maximum area for its intended use.

The fit out included:

  • Full insulation to rear of vehicle
  • Install signwhite steel panels to rear walls and roof
  • Modify passenger seat to swivel 90 degrees
  • Installation of purpose built Laptop Swing table
  • Fitting of LED lighting system to rear
  • Full length Drawer system with a work bench
  • Installation of Floor with Non Slip Surface
  • 4 x LCD TV Monitors for training purposes
  • Additional Storage Facilities
  • Electric Sidestep to sliding door
  • Internal mounted generator with a vent to rear door
  • 240V Power Supply & Rear AC Unit
  • External Awning System
  • Airbag assist for rear end suspension
  • Hydraulic Stabilisation drop down legs
  • Installation of Solar Cells on roof, internal battery system & Inverter
